EPIC BLACK TIE WEDDING AT SEFTON PARK PALM HOUSE
JORDINE AND ANDY’S MODERN PINK LIVERPOOL WEDDING
When I say this epic black tie wedding at Sefton Park Palm House in Liverpool immediately skyrocketed to the top of my wedding video favourites list for 2024, I’m not exaggerating! In fact, it might just hold that spot for a bit longer, too, because from the moment I arrived in Liverpool, wait, scrap that. From the moment I got booked, I knew this would be something special. Especially with my wedding day ride-or-dies Steph Chen Events and Louise Griffin Photography by my side!
As an alternative wedding videographer, Sefton Park Palm House is a bucket list venue; it was a literal dream come true. Tbh, I didn’t expect anything less from these guys as they had friends and family flying in from all over the world, an awesome team behind the scenes, and, of course, their stunning venue and city of choice… Liverpool.
UNIQUE WEDDING VENUE | SEFTON PARK PALM HOUSE
Sefton Park Palm House is the stuff of dreams for any wedding videographer. This unique and alternative wedding venue, nestled within a lush city park, provides the perfect luxurious yet relaxed, natural backdrop to any dream day, especially Jordine and Andy’s pink, black tie celebration. The dramatic high ceilings, Victorian architecture, exotic plants, and natural light GALORE created a truly breathtaking setting. Any alternative wedding videographer would be buzzing to film here, and that was defo the case for me—I've been dying to capture the Palm House’s tropical vibes and epic backdrops for a while now, knowing full well that they would make for some truly unforgettable wedding films.
BLACK TIE STYLING AND MODERN PINK WEDDING FLORALS
The venue was epic, obvs! But we need to talk about the styling because it was pitch-perfect and *chef’s kiss*. Jordine and Andy opted for a classic black-tie theme but zhuzhed it UP with a modern, fun twist. Steph Chen Events did an amazing job and left no stone unturned, ensuring every detail was beyond beautiful and SPOT. ON. It was playful pinks and lush greens for the win on this spring wedding day! It’s no wonder #plantsonpink has 80k+ Instagram tags; it’s a bloody dreamy combo that just works.
Arranging the chairs in a circular wedding ceremony under the glass-domed ceiling in the Palm House was inspired and another highlight (bear with, there are a few!), ensuring everyone could see and hear clearly and created a gorgeous, intimate atmosphere.
The flowers by Mary Mary Florals, in practically every shade of pink imaginable, very nearly stole the show—think big, blousy peonies (for the fun), sculptural, reflexed tulips (for the style), sweetpeas and tonal roses (for a quintessential vibe), and pink anthuriums (for the drama). The latter also gave a boost of juicy texture and a glorious nod to the exotic glasshouse setting.
GLASSHOUSE WEDDING RECEPTION
After the ceremony, we headed outside for an epic confetti shot, with the Palm House as our backdrop—ugh, perfection! Guests were then invited to settle into the wedding day with an al fresco drink reception, free-flowing Aperol, and an acoustic set by New Power Social Club. At the same time, Louise and I took Jordine and Andy off to get creative with some couple shots!
A standout detail that deserves a mention (mainly because it was super cute but also because it went down a treat!) was the personalised love letters written by the bride and groom to every guest. Yes, really! Located on a giant pale pink board, there were heartfelt notes inside pink envelopes addressed to each of their beloved guests. How sweet is that? I hope more couples do this because everyone bloody loved it, including me!
As the evening progressed, we captured some gorgeous golden hour footage, Jordine changed into her sequinned, feathery party outfit, and we did the classic champagne spray before hitting the dance floor! A super-charged dance floor is always a highlight for wedding videographers, and this one didn’t disappoint—there were moves, grooves, shapes, and shimmies, with New Power Social Club soundtracking the evening ‘til late.
ALTERNATIVE WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY
There’s SO much to swoon over from this incredible day. Still, I have to give a big ol’ shoutout and hypothetical foot stamp, wink, and rousing round of applause to the glittery Choos, the dude with the blue hair, the hot pink rhododendron backdrop (it was as if it were planted just for this very occasion!), the SHARP groomsmen, the super cute kid on the dance floor, the pink handheld fans, the gorgeous gal with the Dior sunglasses (gimme!), and the basic but highly entertaining game of limbo.
Can you tell I had a ball? Erm yes! More weddings like this, please. SO, if you're looking for a super cool wedding videographer to capture your unique day, HIT ME UP.
